Planning a weekend in Bangkok, a Bali getaway or a longer trip to Japan? Klook and Trip.com are two of the most popular booking apps in Singapore, and both let you book hotels. They’re good at different things, so the better question isn’t “which is cheaper?” but “what does this trip need?”
Trip type 1: flights and hotel together
Trip.com started with flights, hotels and train tickets, so it’s built for booking your transport and your stay in one place. If your trip is mainly a flight plus a hotel, Trip.com keeps everything in one itinerary and is the more direct choice.
Trip type 2: hotel plus attractions and activities
Klook’s strength is attraction tickets, day tours, transport passes and activities, and it books hotels too. If your itinerary is packed with theme parks, tours or experiences, planning them together on Klook is convenient, and it’s worth checking whether there’s a hotel-and-attraction combo.
Trip type 3: you just want the best room price
No platform is always the cheapest. The same hotel on the same dates can be priced differently on each platform, and prices change often. The safest approach:
- Pick your hotel and dates
- Search on both Klook and Trip.com
- Compare the final price including taxes and fees
- Check the cancellation policy before you book
Cancellation rules: read them on both
Trip.com
- Rooms marked “Free Cancellation” can be cancelled for a full refund before the deadline, usually 24 to 48 hours before check-in, depending on the hotel.
- “Non-refundable” rates are usually cheaper, but generally can’t be cancelled or changed once confirmed.
- You can cancel from “My Trips” in the app or on the website.
Klook
- Each hotel has its own cancellation and no-show policy, shown on the hotel’s page.
- Some rates, fees or special offers can’t be cancelled, refunded or changed.
- Cancellations and changes must go through Klook, not directly with the hotel.
Tip: both platforms sell non-refundable rates. If your plans aren’t fixed yet, a free-cancellation rate is worth the small extra cost.
